Eat Soccer, Breathe Soccer, Sleep Soccer

I am sure you are not surprised to hear me say that I have been eating, sleeping, and breathing soccer. We had team dinners on Friday and Sunday nights. Friday night was Movie Star night and Sunday was Camo! We had a blast....actually I had a blast, not so sure about Brent, but he survived! And was a trooper as always! Then Saturday we went to Odessa to play Permian and then we played here last night! It has been a whirlwind, and even though it feels like we don't have time to breathe, it is fun!!! Brent did make a comment last night out of the blue that led me to believe he had spent a little too much time with high school girls. He said "We will not ever have a high school girl!" Not that he has a choice, because "if" we ever have a girl.....she will eventually be in high school!!! I will admit they are giggly, loud, and constant talkers....but they are fun to be around, because no matter what mood you are in they will put in a better one! They remind me so much of my high school group of friends, and all our memories...from choir concerts, choir trips, track meets, traveling out of town to watch sports, or just hanging out at someone's house!
Well, that was my LONG weekend in a nutshell! The nice thing about a full weekend of soccer, is that we don't play again until Saturday...so I am looking forward to relaxing tonight and watching The Bachelor. (Yeah, I didn't get to watch it cause we played last night, although one of my friends at school already filled me in...accidently....I am still so excited though!!!)

"Friends are the most important ingredient in this recipe of life."

What a wonderful weekend! Friday night we had a team dinner at Gatti's. I really don't remember being that giggly in high school, but I know my mom and dad would disagree! I left with my checks hurting because I had smiled and laughed so much! The girls are a lot of fun! Then Sat. Brent's dad and I headed out to Shotwell in the 21 degree weather! It was FREEZING! (literally) The whole time I kept thinking about that football game our senior year when we played in Lubbock, and the ground was covered in snow!!! It was like 10 below! So all through the game Saturday I just kept telling myself that it could've been worse! Sitting in the freezing cold did pay off! We won!!

The best part about this weekend was that I got to see lots of old friends. I am truly blessed with some of the best friends in the world. Leigh Ann's shower was Sunday. It was so much fun getting to see high school friends and college friends. I enjoyed getting to see some of my best friend's mom's and reminiscing old memories!!! It really is unique what we have...us Abilene girls!!! I can remember everyone telling us we would grow apart...I can't imagine that ever happening!

Well, long week this week! We have already been to the Planetarium this morning! And then tomorrow we will head out on another field trip to tour HEB and then to the park for lunch! (All of us non TAKS takers need to leave so we won't be so distracting!) I really am enjoying the fact that I am not teaching a TAKS grade! I did love my years in fifth grade...but I don't miss the stress this time of year at all! Let's pray for warmer weather tomorrow, so the park might be enjoyable. Hope you all have a wonderful week!

P.S. Thanks to Molly for the cute pic! (Both my cameras are broken!!!)

Surprise

I got the best surprise on Wednesday!!! My best friend in the whole world called to tell me some fun news! I had just walked in the door from school and I got a call from Ally! We talked for a bit about our plans this weekend, and then she said "Well, I called to tell you I'm going to have a baby!" I about fell through the floor!!! I was just yelling and screaming! Of coarse the dogs were looking at me like I was crazy! I had no idea I would be this excited about someone else's pregnancy! Not that she is "somebody else" she is practically my sister...We have been best friends for so long! We lived across the street from each other for years, and then we were Freshman roomies at ACU. We have shared so much together, high school life, college life, engagements, weddings, family illnesses and deaths, and now BABIES!!!! Ally and I have talked about this since we were little ~ our dream has always been that we would get married....have kids...and live across the street from each other so our kids could be best friends just like us!
I was very excited when she called to tell me she was engaged.....but we had all been waiting for so long! And this surprise was literally out of the blue!!! It was so much fun! I have been on Cloud 9 ever since! I talked to them again yesterday, because I don't know how they are sleeping at night!!! That is how excited I am! I can't imagine how excited I will be when it is my own! (which will be awhile, especially now that I have another one to spoil!) I hate that I am not in the same city as Ally during this special time! That was one of the hardest things about moving to A-town, was leaving Ally, Jay, Bowden, and Sadie behind! But I know that our friendship has continued to grow, no matter where we are! And there is no doubt in my mind that we will only get closer. So this one is for you Ally ~ I love you and can't wait to see you!!!!

My Valentine

Well, late night last night, and early morning this morning.....makes for a not so fun day today! We went to Midland last night! Even though we lost the girls played much better, and seem to be improving! It was freezing and even my trustee sleeping bag didn't keep me warm!
Today is not really a day for a run down teacher.... it will be crazy with all the Valentine's and candy! My kiddos are higher than kites! So I am really looking forward to tonight! Brent and I are actually getting to go on a date! It feels like forever since we have been out...just the two of us! We haven't decided where to go or what to do, but I am looking forward to the time together! I have come to realize in the last 3 and 1/2 years in marriage that my husband is sooooo special and unique. The day you get married you don't think you can grow to love your spouse more than you do on that day, but it's amazing how you do! Just a couple of reasons why I love him so much....
He is the most patient person I know and never loses his temper
He doesn't mind my loud voice
He asks me every morning how I slept....and he listens to my answer
He kisses me goodnight
He gives me a hug each morning
He keeps me calm and levelheaded when I get all riled up
He prays with me
He starts my car in the morning if it is cold
He does the dishes, when I cook (which has been very rare lately)
He knows I like things neat and clean and he tries to keep his "stuff" as neat and clean as possible ( I will admit he has gotten better at this)
He always considers me when asked to go somewhere or do something
He nevers fails to put a smile on my face or make me laugh....even when I'm not in a good mood He feeds the girls and he always plays ball with them....he is a very good daddy to them

He is a sweet uncle to our 2 adorable nephews...& will be a great dad
He always takes the high road and is a great Christian role model
He grocery shops with me
He has helped me with my EAGLE pride!!
He takes out the trash!!!!
He goes fishing with my brothers
He lets our babies sleep with us
He helps me at school
He will eat Bueno...even if we already ate it twice in a week
He is my best friend
As you can tell I could go on and on.....
I hope you all have a wonderful Valentine's day with your sweethearts!

The Big Game

Well, today is the big game! We play the Coogs tonight at Shotwell. I don't know how nervous Brent is, but I was awake at 5:00. I don't know why I am nervous, it's not like I can control any aspect of the game! Brent is so level headed and calm, that he rarely gets riled up, but I know tonight has been weighing on his mind!
We should beat Cooper... but with the cross town rivalry issue, you never know which team is going to come out stronger. Brent's junior year, the Eagles definitely had the better team and the Coogs pulled out a victory, so you never know!! Brent needs this win, and his girls need this win. I know it is hard for y'all to believe that I want to beat Cooper, but I want to beat them sooooo bad! Hopefully, today will fly by, so that we can get the show on the road tonight! Be praying for me to keep my sanity today, and for my second grade babies to not push too many of my buttons!

First Timer

Well, I have been talked into it! I decided to try the blog thing! I don't have a clue if I will be good at keeping up! Especially right now, in the middle of soccer season, but I will try to stay updated! I have loved reading other blogs and staying in touch through them, So we will see!
