Pictures!

I can't believe it has been six weeks!!! I feel like he has been a part of our world forever! Not much has been going on in our lives. We are lazy most days! I just sit around and hold him! Brent has started summer, so it's nice that he is home. We have lots of house projects planned!!! We haven't done anything to the outside of our house....so it's time to get busy on that!!! So enough with talk....on to pictures!!!
Caden enjoyed meeting Kelby and Toddi!

and my grandparents....my grandfather has been in the hospital for the past month, so as soon as I could travel we took a roadtrip up to Ft. Worth so Caden could meet his great-grandparents.
Here is Mr. C at one month!

Warning: WAY TOO LONG!!!

I really have no clue where to start telling you about the past month.....so I’ll start at the beginning! On April 14 we went in for our weekly dr. appt. y blood pressure was high so they decided to monitor me for the week! If you are a teacher you can confirm that in April around TAKS all teachers’ blood pressure is high. After checking my bp everyday my dr. decided to induce. I had not dilated at all, which was odd because Caden had been in the birth canal for over three weeks. Since I had not dilated we went in Thursday night for a cervical procedure to help me start dilating before they started inducing on Friday morning. Well, by 10:00 Thursday night I was in hard labor and they ended up having to try to slow the contractions down....why? I have no clue??? All through the night Thursday night we (I say we cause Brent wasn't sleeping either :~) had contractions about a minute and a half apart and during every contraction Caden's heart rate would drop (that is the scariest feeling in the world) (at one point the nurse ran into the hallway and yelled some code word, well we aren't DUMB ~ we could hear the heart rate dropping and B could see the monitor) .....And to top it all off, I couldn't get my epidural because I wasn't dilated AT ALL!!!!! Needless to say.....it was not fun!!!!! Luckily, about 6:00 Friday morning my water broke and I was dilated to a two. My dr. had told me I couldn't have my epidural until I was at a four, but I think he must've felt sorry for me since I had been in serious pain since 10:00 the night before and since my water had broke he said ok to an epidural. So from 6:30 on I was good to go! I seriously believe that epidurals are the BEST invention EVER!!!!! They ended up not having to give me pitocin because I was moving right along. At about noon he decided we were ready to go and we told our families goodbye and Dr. Tadvick told them we would have a baby shortly. He and Brent were joking about ours being the first one born of the day.... (We knew another couple that was delivering that day) and Tadvick told him we should have a baby within 10 minutes!!!!!! Well, four and a half hours later we did have a beautiful baby boy! He ended up being sunny side up and having his arms over his head....which means delivering shoulders, arms, and head all at once!!! Good thing for that epidural! But that is the reason I wasn't dilating at all and the reason his heart rate was dropping every contraction, because he had his cord up there with him, and the reason it took so long to get that precious boy out!!!! Needless to say....it is TOTALLY worth it when you hear that precious cry!!!! Brent was absolutely amazing.....you think you love your husband with your whole heart and then you go through an experience like that and not only do you grow another heart for your precious child, but I think my heart doubled in size with love for Brent! I totally couldn't have done it without him! When he went out to the waiting room to share the news a random man made a comment about how awful he looked! Poor thing!!! Ok, so enough with the gory details....here are some pics of our precious little man!
He was so beat up when he was brand new ~ I'll save him from future embarrasment from posting the ones where he looked like he had been through a war zone....he had bruises and scrapes on his face and head from the forceps.

Caden and his great-grandparents

Kisses from Miss Camden
We were so thankful for all the many visitors at the hospital. We totally didn't expect to be there 5 days....and it made the stay go by much quicker!
Finally Headed Home!It was so nice to get home! We quickly introduced the girls to their baby brother! They still aren't real sure about him! Ele was just excited to get some attention....she was so excited my camera wasn't quick enough to catch a picture of her!
Lots of family and friends came to meet Caden!
Starting with my aunt Connie and my cousin Andi! My grandfather was in the hospital (he is finally out) and they couldn't come! They were devastated, but we sent back lots of pictures!
Meeting future friends Brody and Quinn
He looks so chunky in this next picture....however we had to return to the dr three times cause this kid wouldn't get back up to his birth weight....he dropped to 6 lbs 10 oz...and wouldn't gain....Stubborn little thing!
Our first sponge bath!
Our first dr visit! He was very impressed with Dr. Wiley!

So that more or less sums up the first month....hopefully it won't be another month before I post again!!! It isn't an excuse...but the grad class I am in right now is a killer....any free time I get I am reading or writing!

5 pounds, 4 Losses, 3 weeks, 2 showers, and 1 roomie

Wow....it has been a while...I don't even know if I can recall everything that we have been doing!
I'll start with the 5 pounds....We went to the specialist (or in our case the sonogram dr.) over spring break! Mr. Caden is 5 pounds 15 ounces. We are hoping he doesn't gain a pound a week or I am having a ten pound baby! Which doesn't sound like much fun to me! The dr. said he has lots of hair, which just made me wonder...is it Camp blonde....or Thompson black? I really don't know how accurate they really can be, but I guess we will see!
Now on to a more difficult topic! Last night our season ended with our fourth loss of the year! The girls had a great season with a 22-4 record! They were District Champs and had advanced to the playoffs! It was pretty hard to swallow the loss last night! It wasn't something that anyone thought would happen.....but they played their hearts out and lost in overtime! We had planned on playing for two more weeks...but that wasn't in the cards! They have nothing to hang their heads about....four losses is a great season! This was a very hard season to end for Brent. This group of seniors was the group he started with three years ago when they were all sophomores. The first year was a difficult season only winning three games. But in the past three years they have come so far and the relationship they have created will forever be special! I am so proud of Brent and the leader he has been for these girls! I know the mark he has made on them is just as sweet as the mark they have made on him.
Only three weeks and three days left! Are we ready.....nope! But, maybe that is why soccer came to a close a little earlier than planned! It is time to get it in gear and get all the last minute stuff done! We are on the down hill slide!
Enough of boring talk....here are some pics! Before spring break we had two wonderful showers! The first was a couples shower, and it was so much fun having B there to help open gifts and ohh and ahh over all Caden's cute stuff!!! The HSU players and their parents threw it for us! It was for us and some of our sweet friends (the HSU coach) who are expecting one week ahead of us! I forgot my camera....I know how bad is that....but one of the girls took pics for me, but I haven't been by to get the cd yet...so no pics from that one! The next day my precious friends threw a wonderful shower for me and Mr. Caden. It was so much fun getting to see sweet friends that drove in for this special day!
Caden's sweet friends! It was so fun seeing all the babies!

My sweet friends and
wonderful hostesses!

I have been so blessed with the friendship of all these sweet girls for so long, some as far back as Madison Middle School! I love that we can just pick right up where we left off!

And my sweet college roomies! It was so special that they all came! We are spread throughout Texas, but it is always so much fun when we are able to get together!

And lastly we have a new roomie....no not Caden yet...but Brent's college teammate and friend is staying with us while he is doing a PT internship with Hendrick. It was actually great motivation to get the back guesthouse cleaned out! I know Brent and Will are enjoying acting like they are in college again....and it keeps me laughing! I am sure he is loving living with a nine month prego!

And here is the most recent belly pic! Taken at 36 weeks!

So that is about all going on! Even though I am sad soccer is over...I finally feel like I can breathe and maybe get some things accomplished!

I've been tagged!!!

10 years ago: WOW!! I can't believe ten years ago I was a senior in high school at good ol CHS! Never would I have imagined that my husband would be coaching at AHS! That was the enemy! hmmmm....what was I doing....well, I know I was enduring many long, hard, grueling track workouts and doing the normal high school girly things....boyfriends, friends, and occasionally some homework here and there! Spring break of my senior year I went on a choir trip to London where I made some of the best memories of high school.

Things on my to-do list today: My brother is having surgery tomorrow, so I need to get a little goodie basket together for him to have with him while he lounges away the next couple of days.....and my dad's b-day is tomorrow ~ I have his gift, but I need to wrap it! That is about it on my list....unusual for my list to be short!!!

What would I do if I was suddenly became a Billionaire? I really think I would continue working...I love my job and can't imagine not being a teacher. I would like to do many things of "Paying it forward" as Oprah would say!

Three of my bad habits: - letting the dogs on the furniture ~ not the bed, but I have justified that it is ok for them to be on the love seat as long as a blanket is covering it....this could be bad once Caden gets here!
not getting up when the alarm goes off ~ and this morning I walked up right before the bell rang.....the closer to summer the harder this gets! and the good thing is pretty soon I won't be needing an alarm clock....I will have my own personal greeter in the morning!
I can't think of a third....and I don't want to think that hard!!!!

Five jobs I have had: Teacher, Receptionist at a Dermatologist's office, AYBA ref, and this is stretching it but a babysitter

Five things people don't know about me: -our house in Keller is finally leased again!!! YAY for not paying two mortgages anymore!!!!
I only have one more year of grad school left and I will take the test for principalship this summer!
Even though I have watched B play soccer in high school and college I have never really totally understood all the aspects of the game until the past probably two years ago~After games B and I stay up and watch video and discuss the game, since I come from a basketball, baseball family I have never been a soccer lover~ but I can honestly say I like soccer and look forward to watching or discussing it! (as long as it pertains to Brent) I can't say I would randomly turn on soccer and watch it like Brent does.
I love Big Brother;
and # 5 We get to see Mr. Caden again tomorrow!

I tag.....Shannon, Ally, Leigh Ann, and Flea
